Africa Weekly: Deadly unrest and looting in South Africa
AFP, 16 Jul 2021

Protests over ex-president Jacob Zuma's imprisonment spilled over into mass looting of shops and warehouses, some of the worst violence since the start of all-race democracy 27 years ago. In Ethiopia, the ethnic strife adds fuel to the fire in the eight-month war in Tigray. Chadian director Mahamat Saleh Haroun's Lingui is screened at the Cannes film festival in France.
