Africa Weekly: Mali appoints new interim president

After weeks of discussion, Mali now has a new interim president. Retired colonel Bah Ndaw takes over following the forced departure of Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, ousted in a military coup in mid-August. Elsewhere, protesters in Cameroon took to the streets to demand an end to the rule of President Paul Biya, who has led the country with an iron fist for nearly 40 years. And in Angola, commercial flights have resumed as the southern African nation eases its coronavirus restrictions.
