Airlines hit hard: KLM cuts jobs and British Airways owner to raise $3.3 billion

IAG, the owner of British Airways, plans to raise 2.75 billion euros from shareholders to prop up its finances and allow it to survive what could be a longer-than-expected collapse in flying, while KLM, the Dutch arm of Air France-KLM, said on Friday it would cut 1,500 additional jobs.
