America's presence in Afghanistan was always intended to 'counter terrorism', says President Biden.

Speaking in a defiant tone, Mr Biden said that it wouldn't have made a difference if the USA had remained in Afghanistan for 1, 5 or 10 more years.

He said that Americans had done everything they could to support the Afghan people and military.
