At 90, Star Trek actor William Shatner becomes the oldest person to reach space

William Shatner, famous for his role as Star Trek’s Captain James T. Kirk, blasted 66.5 miles (107km) above the surface of the Earth on October 13, 2021, aboard a Blue Origin rocket to the edge of space. The actor and three other crew members spent three minutes floating in zero gravity and saw the curvature of the planet before returning home.
