Colorado State University has released its annual Atlantic hurricane season forecast and according to researchers, it will be another above average year.
The 2020 hurricane season became the most active in history, with a record-breaking 30 named storms, with 12 making landfall in the continental U.S.
This year’s outlook calls for 17 named storms and eight hurricanes, with half of those being considered major hurricanes.
The forecast also calls for a higher-than-average chance of a hurricane making landfall in parts of the U.S. East and Gulf coasts, as well as the Caribbean.
