Telegraph, 04 Dec 2020
Jawad Burhan, who works nearby the Avonmouth waste water tank, said he heard a "boom... an explosion" coming from the water tank.

He heard from a colleague that it was rumoured one person was dead and two missing from the incident.

Fire and rescue services are responding to "multiple casualties" after a large explosion in a chemical tank in Avonmouth.

Crews from six different rescue teams responded to the incident, which occurred at 11.22am, near Bristol.

A major incident has been declared by police.

The explosion is believed to have involved one of the chemical tanks at Wessex Water’s Bristol water recycling centre.

A rescue operation has been subsequently led by the fire service, involving five appliances and two turntable crews.
