BC floods: City of Abbotsford officials provide update | LIVE

CA, 21 Nov 2021
Officials of the city of Abbotsford are expected to provide an update on the ongoing situation amid devastating flooding in the province.

As of Friday, an estimated 17,000 British Columbians remained on evacuation orders related to the devastating floods and landslides that swept through southwestern B.C., following an atmospheric river last week.

Highway 3 between Agassiz and Princeton, is restricted to only passenger vehicles smaller than a “cube van,” officials said. Highway 99 is also restricted to only essential travel after a mudslide on a section of the highway between Pemberton and Lillooet swept between five and seven vehicles off the road.

The death toll has risen to four in the wake of the deadly slide, with one person still missing.
