BC floods: Government officials provide update on ongoing state of emergency | LIVE

CA, 21 Nov 2021
British Columbia Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth and other officials are expected to provide an update on the ongoing state of emergency as the death toll from a mudslide on Highway 99 has climbed to four.

The slide came down on a section of highway between Pemberton and Lillooet known as Old Duffey Road on Monday, sweeping between five and seven vehicles off the road.

Five days after the catastrophic flooding and landslides, crews have cleared a single route for essential traffic only.

The Ministry of Transportation said Friday that Highway 7 between Metro Vancouver and Hope, and Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton had been opened to vehicles.
