Beirut explosion: Worsening financial crisis, food insecurity looms

For years, Lebanon has faced countless problems, from an economic meltdown to a health crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic. Humanitarian experts say these will likely only get worse after the blasts in its capital, Beirut, on Tuesday.
Lebanon’s main grain silo was destroyed in the blast, worsening the food security problem in the country that has almost half of its population living below the poverty line.
Now, other nations like Canada are donating to relief efforts to help the country.
