U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to deliver a Christmas address at the White House on Thursday, focused on what unites Americans, his optimism for the year ahead and wishing everyone joy for the coming year.

Earlier in the day, Biden warned about "dangerous and threatening" storms in the U.S. in the coming days, and urged those who plan to travel to visit family or friends for the holidays should leave right away.

Biden's address comes a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid a defiant wartime visit to Washington on Wednesday, thanking U.S. leaders and “ordinary Americans” for their support in fighting off Russia’s invasion.
