Bill Cosby released after court overturns sex assault conviction
Al Jazeera, 01 Jul 2021
US comedian Bill Cosby has been released from prison after Pennsylvania's Supreme Court overturned his conviction.
The 83-year-old served more than two years of a 10-year sentence on charges of drugging and assaulting a woman.
While the Pennsylvania Supreme Court did not exonerate Cosby, it released him essentially on a legal technicality, it made clear that he cannot stand trial for the same charge again.
Al Jazeera’s Mike Hanna reports from the US capital, Washington, DC.
