Boris Johnson pledged to set up a public inquiry into the government's handling of the Covid pandemic during this parliamentary session. It is the first time the prime minister has set out a loose timeframe for such an inquiry. 'I do believe it’s essential we have a full, proper public inquiry into the Covid pandemic,' the prime minister said, in response to questioning from the leader of the Liberal Democrats, Ed Davey. 'I can certainly say that we will do that within this session.'
