Boris Johnson rolls eyes as Brexiter Bill Cash lists precedents of international law-breaking

Telegraph, 17 Sep 2020
During the Liaison Committee Boris Johnson was caught rolling his eyes as MP Sir Bill Cash was speaking.

Asked about the "sensible" law-breaking provisions of the Internal Market Bill Sir Bill Cash, chair of the European Scrutiny committee, Boris Johnson said "I think you are right".

He said: "It is essential that we uphold the will of the people in the way that we are. It is also right that we have a system that allows us to protect parliamentary sovereignty and the geographic integrity of the UK."

Sir Bill offered "something in the order" of 20 precedents where international treaties have been overridden.

He gave long lists of examples, resulting in Mr Johnson rolling his eyes and shifting around in his seat.
