Schools in England will not reopen before March 8, the Prime Minister has announced as he shelved hopes of reinstating in-person lessons after February half-term.
Boris Johnson sought to offset his downbeat statement on classrooms remaining closed to most pupils for another five weeks with the promise that next month he will publish a roadmap out of restrictions for the nation.
