Boris Johnson: We should focus on pandemic, not 'pointless' wrangling over Scottish independence

Boris Johnson has played down suggestions that Nicola Sturgeon’s performance during the Covid pandemic has strengthened the case for Scottish independence.
“I don’t think the right thing to do is talk endlessly about another referendum… when I think the people of Scotland want is for us to fight this pandemic,” the Prime Minister said on a visit to Glasgow.
“It’s great to see everything that Scotland is contributing to the national effort.
“I don’t see the advantage in getting lost in pointless constitutional wrangling when after all we had a referendum not so long ago.”
