Prime Minister Liz Truss twice refused to say whether she "trusts" her chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng.

It came after the PM said at the weekend it was Mr Kwarteng who decided to go ahead with a tax cut for top earners.

The controversial policy was axed on Monday but homeowners are still faced with soaring mortgage costs after the Bank of England pushed up interest rates to counter rising inflation.
