Nasa scientists have launched a spacecraft to test out new technology that could stop the Earth being hit by a deadly asteroid.
By crashing it into a small asteroid, they hope to be able to perfect a technique of crashing it into any large object that is heading towards our planet, changing the course of its trajectory.
