CA, 08 Jun 2021
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other Canadian federal party leaders spoke in the House of Commons on Tuesday regarding a hit and run in London, Ont. where five family members were intentionally struck down by a driver, which left four dead and sent a nine-year-old boy to hospital, police said.
Police have said the family members were targeted because of their Muslim faith.
They say a pickup truck, driven by a 20-year-old London man, mounted a curb, struck them as they were out for a Sunday evening walk and then drove away. He said the accused, 20-year-old London resident Nathanial Veltman, was arrested about a six-kilometre drive from the scene.
Multiple politicians including Trudeau have condemned the attack.
