Canadians want government to reduce trade reliance with China, but not sever ties: Ipsos poll
CA, 21 Jul 2020
An Ipsos poll exclusive to Global News has found 82 per cent of Canadians think our government should reduce its reliance on trade with China, but only 38 per cent think we should sever ties completely.
Moreover, 75 per cent of Canadians surveyed believed Canada should do more to stand up to the Chinese government and defend the residents of Hong Kong.
Darrell Bricker, CEO of Ipsos Public Affairs, breaks down the numbers and offers some additional insight into how Canadians are feeling not just about the situation with Hong Kong, but the impact of ongoing tensions between our two countries.
