Zhou Chengyu has become a viral hit as the youngest commander at China’s rocket launch site in Wenchang, state media reported. At age 24, she is also the first female to hold this position. The space commander was in charge of the rocket connector system in Chang’e 5 mission to bring moon rocks back to Earth. The successful operation, which took place in December 2020, makes China the third country to have retrieved lunar samples.
