China is making fast progress in nuclear power technology and has obtained a large number of patents for its recently completed Hualong One, the country's pilot and demonstration nuclear power plant. On March 25 this year, the Unit 6 of Hualong One was put into commercial operation, marking the completion of the power plant. China has become the fourth country with indigenous third-generation nuclear power technology, following the U.S., France and Russia.
