Alberta’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw updated the COVID-19 situation in the province on Monday.

Hinshaw’s update comes after a grim weekend in Alberta when it comes to COVID-19. On Sunday, the province reported 19 deaths connected to coronavirus, along with 1,836 new cases.

On Saturday, the province once again broke a daily case record with 1,879.

According to the Government of Canada’s website, Alberta has the highest active case count in the country as of Sunday.
