President-elect Joe Biden is expected to unveil his plan for a COVID-19 vaccine rollout across the United States on Friday, as he prepares to be sworn in as the country's next president.

The former vice-president has repeatedly criticized the Trump administration for the pace at which it has distributed COVID-19 vaccines, renewing that critique on Thursday as he unveiled his proposal for a stimulus package.

On Thursday, Biden also renewed his pledge to vaccinate 100 million Americans in his first 100 days as president.

His $1.9-trillion aid package unveiled on Thursday includes $415 billion to bolster the response to the virus and the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, some $1 trillion in direct relief to households, and roughly $440 billion for small businesses and communities particularly hard hit by the pandemic.
