Coronavirus: California governor vows to hold "bad actors" accountable over COVID-19 spread

CA, 07 Jul 2020
California Gov. Gavin Newsom vowed on Monday that the state would hold "bad actors," those disregarding orders in place to contain and mitigate COVID-19, accountable over the spread of the virus in the state.

He said that enforcement was not just about being punitive, but also educating and allowing people to make modifications. Newsom said this is the primary focus of the enforcement, education along with the criteria put out on how to safely reopen sectors of the economy.

A total of 271,684 Californians have tested positive for the virus, with 11,529 in the past 24 hours, according to state records. About 6,300 have died.
