Coronavirus: Canadian officials provide update on COVID-19 modelling | LIVE

CA, 19 Feb 2021
Canadian health officials are expected to deliver new modelling data on Friday showing the potential situation facing Canada, as fears grow of a third wave of COVID-19.

Canada's chief public health officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, has warned that Canadians should still be wary of a resurgence of the virus despite a "steady decline" in cases -- citing the detection of several variants "of concern" across the country.

To date, the country has logged over 837,500 infections, of which 783,417 have since recovered. Canada's death toll now stands at 21,498.
