Coronavirus: CDC says vaccinated Americans can socialize without masks, distancing | FULL

CA, 08 Mar 2021
The director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, on Monday announced new guidance for Americans who had been vaccinated against COVID-19, saying they would be able to socialize with other people who are fully vaccinated without wearing masks or keeping their distance.

She said that people should still stick to small gatherings with other vaccinated individuals.

Walensky also advised that individuals who are fully vaccinated can visit with friends or family from a single household who aren't vaccinated but have a low risk of severe disease from COVID-19.

Despite the guidance, Walensky advised vaccinated Americans should still continue to wear masks when in public or visiting with people at severe risk for the disease who have not been vaccinated, and continue to practice social distancing. They should also refrain from travelling or gathering in large groups.

More than 82 million vaccine doses have been given out in the U.S. according to official figures.
