Coronavirus: Dr. Anthony Fauci to speak at COVID-19 conference | FULL
CA, 10 Jul 2020
Dr. Anthony Fauci spoke at the virtual COVID-19 conference hosted by the International AIDS Society and the WHO in Geneva.
Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, warned on Tuesday that it’s a “false narrative to take comfort in a lower rate of death” amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. He added that there are “so many other things that are very dangerous and bad about the virus,” and to not get “into false complacency.”
U.S. President Donald Trump pushed back, saying he disagreed with the doctor and that he believed the U.S. was in a "good place."
