Coronavirus: Horgan points to ‘great reasons for optimism’ as B.C. economy reopens | FULL
CA, 10 Jul 2020
B.C. Premier John Horgan spoke on Thursday about the province’s efforts to reopen amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, stating that he sees “great reasons for optimism.”
Horgan said the number of new cases of COVID-19 has remained “relatively low” in the province even as more people use public transit, dine out and participate in the economy in other ways.
Horgan raised, as an example of the strength of the B.C. economy, a half-a-billion-dollar investment from CN Rail and said an increasing number of companies are looking to B.C. as an example of a province that has flattened the curve.
As of Thursday, B.C. had reported 3,000 cases of COVID-19 and 186 deaths attributed to the virus.
