Coronavirus: Quebec premier, health officials provide update on COVID-19 response | LIVE

Quebec Premier François Legault is expected to hold a press conference Friday to provide an update on the province's ongoing response to the pandemic and next week's vaccine distribution plan.

The province reported 1,713 new infections Friday and 53 more deaths, according to health authorities.

Pfizer's vaccine rollout at the Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre long-term home in Côte Saint-Luc, which has been hard hit by the pandemic’s second wave is set to start as early as this weekend.

Quebec has a total of 160,023 cases and 7,435 deaths to date.
