Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will hold his first news conference of 2021 on Tuesday at Rideau Cottage in Ottawa and will provide an update on the government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine rollout.

The press conference comes after the federal government has faced criticism from some experts that its vaccine rollout has been too slow.

Ministers and Government of Canada officials are expected to hold a news conference to provide an update on coronavirus following Trudeau's address.

As of Monday, Canada had a reported total of 608,746 COVID-19 cases and 15,933 deaths.
