Coronavirus: United Nations predicts pandemic will almost double acute hunger in 2020

The United Nations is warning that 270 million people, a doubling of earlier predictions, could face acute hunger by the end of 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic contributes to a global hunger crisis.

With a worsening crisis facing millions of displaced Syrians, the World Food Programme is launching a historic humanitarian response. Redmond Shannon reports
