COVID-19: Countries ramp up restrictions as more Omicron cases detected across the world

As more cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant, also known as B.1.1.529, are detected around the world, several countries are imposing travel restrictions in hopes of slowing the spread.
In Japan, where entry rules were softened just weeks ago, the country is now banning the arrival of all foreign nationals as of Wednesday. Israel is also temporarily banning all arrivals, while Morocco is suspending all incoming flights for two weeks.
