Telegraph, 23 Sep 2020
A Co-op customer appears to throw objects and smash wine bottles after allegedly being asked by shop staff to follow the one-way system.

CCTV from a Co-op store in Surrey shows the customer shouting at staff as she bangs on Perspex glass surrounding the checkout, before appearing to throw several objects.

The individual then moves to the alcohol aisle before sweeping two rows of wine bottles onto the floor.

The footage was filmed in May this year and has been released by Co-op.

Shop owners say their employees are increasingly receiving abuse from customers when staff are told to enforce coronavirus safety measures.

Retailers are calling on the government to implement harsher penalties for customers who abuse and assault staff members.
