Households in Birmingham will be banned from meeting in new lockdown measures starting on Tuesday.

The restrictions follow a spike in coronavirus cases and cover neighbouring Sandwell and Solihull, affecting more than 1.6 million people in total.

People will not be able to meet other households indoors or in private gardens - but can still go out to shops, restaurants and other venues, in groups of up to six.
