Debate over memorializing Canada's 1st prime minister John A. Macdonald

After a statue of Sir John A. Macdonald was toppled during a Montreal protest, the debate has been reignited over how to honour Canada's first prime minister, a towering historical figure in Canada but one whose legacy is marred by his treatment of and attitude towards Canada's Indigenous peoples.

Jayme Doll looks at the delicate balance of preserving history while coming to terms with a racist past.
