Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China’s Sichuan Province is an excellent place to learn about Tibetan culture, such as the engraving printing technology of Dege. Built in 1729, the Dege Sutra-Printing House is the largest of its kind in China and is home to more than 320,000 Tibetan printing blocks, which cover religion, history, literature, art, medicine, astronomy and calendars.
