Though almost invisible to the naked eye, Plankton are the foundation of the marine food web. The tiny organisms carried on the tides produce much of the oxygen we breathe as well as playing a crucial role in the global carbon cycle. But recent studies have shown that as climate change heats the seas, plankton are on the move - which could have potentially profound consequences for both ocean life and humans.
