Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey criticised Extinction Rebellion protesters for preventing millions of people from reading the Sun on Saturday, which contained an article by Sir David Attenborough about climate change.

"I fear when you damage the free press, that is shooting yourself in the foot," he said.

He also said the government is being "reckless" in risking a no-deal Brexit, which would be a "disaster for jobs" during the deepest recession "in 300 years".
