Europe says 90 percent fewer refugees arrive since 2015

Al Jazeera, 24 Sep 2020
Europe's border agency says last year there were 90 percent fewer people arriving than at the height of the refugee crisis, back in 2015.
About 140,000 irregular migrant arrivals were recorded in 2019.
The most arrivals, around 83,000 of them, were made through Greek islands.
That is followed by arrivals in Spain and Italy.
Germany accepted the largest amount of people - more than 116,000.
France and Spain come in second and third respectively.
But 720,000 asylum applications were filed last year - a far larger number than the arrivals.
