Fierce wildfire near Saint-Tropez forces thousands to evacuate

Thousands of people, including at least 2,000 holidaymakers, were evacuated from their accommodation in south-east France on Tuesday.

Wildfires swept through more than 6,000 hectares of land, including several villages surrounding the popular holiday destination of Saint-Tropez. 

More than 900 firefighters and 120 gendarmes are working to put out the fire, which was still not under control.
