Former Europe Minister on Brexit negotiations: 'The UK has to be more realistic'
Sky, 07 Jun 2020
France's former Europe Minister, Nathalie Loiseau, outlined some of the problems with Brexit negotiations, saying the UK is "asking for provisions which have never been in any free trade agreement the EU has signed".
She criticised the UK for not committing to some social and environmental standards: "We cannot believe in just words. 'Trust us, we believe in the environment.' OK, if you believe in the environment, write it down."
Speaking to Sophy Ridge, she said the UK has asked for things like reciprocity for professional qualifications, which the EU only provides for member states.
