The EU taketh, but not giveth...
The European Union – it likes to present itself as an elite club, but is starting to sound more like a frat house that makes its pledges do humiliating stuff.
Bulgaria recently blocked North Macedonia’s EU accession talks, because it claims that the Macedonian language is actually a dialect of Bulgarian. This comes after a name dispute with Greece ended by Macedonia changing its constitutional name into North Macedonia to please the EU. And now the country is being blackmailed into giving up its language, culture and even its history, with Bulgaria demanding that the Macedonians stop praising Yugoslav president Tito in their school textbooks.
