After a relatively slow start to the season, firefighters in British Columbia are now battling dozens of wildfires, most sparked in the past 48 hours. As Heather Yourex-West reports, lightning and high temperatures are now fuelling the threat.
As western Canada deals with wildfires, eastern Canada may see some wet weather as Tropical Storm Isaias makes its way up the eastern seaboard. Despite no longer being a hurricane, the storm is still packing a punch as it continues along the coast, leaving thousands without power. Jennifer Johnson reports on how Canada is expected to be its next target.
Testing shortages are making it difficult to understand the true toll of COVID-19 in developing countries, with many reporting lower death rates than in richer nations like Canada or the U.S. Redmond Shannon reports on how demographics and data collection may explain the different infection rate curves.

Swimmers along the eastern seaboard have been left on edge after a fatal shark attack off the coast of Maine near a popular holiday spot, and not that far from Canada. Officials have confirmed it was a Great White Shark and recent sightings of the shark in Northern Atlantic waters indicate its population is on the rise. Ross Lord reports that scientists are warning the species has been unfairly demonized.
Many Canadians are having to change travel plans and keep their adventures closer to home, but there's plenty to find right here in Canada, which has more than 1,500 national historic sites. Mike Armstrong was taken off the beaten path where he found one of the ruins of one of the country's oldest churches.
