Health secretary Matt Hancock has announced grandparents, among others who provide 'a consistent childcare relationship' will be exempt during local lockdowns in England.
The exemption lockdown measures will cover formal and informal arrangements, for children under 14 and for vulnerable adults.
Hancock said  new payments worth £500 would be offered to those on low incomes who have to self-isolate and fines will apply to people who do not obey
