Harris says Trump, Republicans not interested in ‘any of the lessons’ from late Justice Ginsburg

CA, 29 Sep 2020
Democratic nominee for vice president Kamala Harris on Monday attacked President Donald Trump and the Republican party for trying to “jam through” the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the U.S. Supreme Court, saying the president and his party “are not interested in hearing any of the lessons” from the late Ginsburg.

Harris said the president and Senate Republicans are “afraid of what they’re going to be told” by voters.

Harris said the appointment of Barrett to the Supreme Court would undo Ginsburg’s “life’s work,” adding that the Affordable Care Act could be overturned, which she said would “take us backward” because of its impact on women.

She added that Barrett “has a long record” of opposing abortion and reproductive rights, saying that “there is no other issue that so disrespects and dishonours the work of Justice Ginburg’s life” than undoing Roe V. Wade.
