Hong Kong’s iconic burgundy carriages are rolling off into history with a new look soon to be unveiled. The Peak Tram will undergo the final stage of a long-delayed HK$700 million (US$90 million) renovation project. Under the plan, the existing carriages will be replaced with a larger – and more advanced – iteration of the 133-year-old funicular railway cars.
