'I hope we shall retain the renewed sense of closeness and community': the Queen on Commonwealth Day

The Queen has paid tribute to the world's healthcare workers amid the coronavirus pandemic, appearing in a special BBC programme screened on Sunday at 17:00 to celebrate Commonwealth Day.

The annual Commonwealth Day service was due to take place on Monday, Mar 8, attended by the Queen and members of the royal family, will not go ahead due to the pandemic, Westminster Abbey has said.

To mark Commonwealth Day, the Queen has instead shared her annual message in A Celebration For Commonwealth Day, which was broadcast on Sunday, Mar 7 on BBC One at 5pm.
