Boris Johnson is being grilled at Prime Minister’s Questions as the Government faces growing calls to do more to tackle the cost of living crisis.
Inflation hit a 40-year high of nine per cent last month, according to new data published this morning, and the Prime Minister is under pressure from Sir Keir Starmer to bring forward extra support for struggling families.
The Labour leader has sought to capitalise on the crisis in recent weeks, repeatedly accusing the PM of failing to do enough, as he tries to stabilise his position in the wake of “beergate”.
