Indian police detained several of the country’s top wrestlers, including Olympic medallists, as they attempted to march to a new parliament building being inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on May 28, 2023. The protesters demanded the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and lawmaker Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was accused of sexually harassing seven young female wrestlers.
